Advisors' Opinion:- [By Brian Pacampara]
Based on the aggregated intelligence of 180,000-plus investors participating in Motley Fool CAPS, the Fool's free investing community, hazardous waste disposal specialist US Ecology (NASDAQ: ECOL ) has earned a coveted five-star ranking.
- [By Damian Illia] ides waste management and recycling services to manufacturing, industrial and energy-related sectors. The company five waste sites treat hazardous and non-hazardous industrial waste, as well as radioactive and PCB waste. In addition, the company麓s Robstown treatment plant in Texas counts with a thermal desorption unit that treats refinery sludge.
In the following sections I will show you that we are dealing with a very profitable growth stock, that has an above average ROE rate of 13.89%, and operates with a net margin of 15.99%.
Holding a Strong Position in the Market
ECOL has two revenue streams. Business contracts to treat customersperiodic disposal needs on the one hand, and event-driven services that apply to special projects or cleanup work on the other.
Furthermore, the company has a wide economic moat largely stemming from three factors: its efficient scale, its high switching costs and its intangible assets. Of the 20 commercial hazardous-waste landfills operational in the U.S., the majority are run by US Ecology and its main competitors Waste Management Inc. (WM), and Clean Harbors Inc. (CLH). With barriers to entry stemming from regulatory permits, and a limited market size, ECOL has managed to achieve an efficient scale in the market with five hazardous waste-sides. The company intangible assets consist of long-term regulatory permits, which enable US Ecology to posses a atekeeper privilegeregarding barriers to new entrants. In addition, customer switching costs are high, thus further adding to the firm ability to sustain growth in the long term.
Good Investments and New Management Should Ensure Profitable Growth
A range of new treatment services should also help ensure profitable growth for coming years. For example, the Texas facility which operates a new thermal desorption technology for oil refinery sludge since 2008 has been responsible for 10% of revenue and is expected to keep grow

Among the stocks to watch in Monday’s session are US Ecology Inc.(ECOL), Akamai, and Dow Chemical Co.(DOW)
US Ecology again raised its earnings guidance for the year, pointing to strong volumes and accelerated project shipments, but warned its results for next year may take a hit as a result. The company, which provides waste- management and recycling services, also outlined plans to offer about $100 million in stock. Shares dropped 10% to $34.51 premarket.

As we can see, the firm has a higher ROE than Amrep Corporation (AXR) but is well below the one registered by US Ecology Inc. (ECOL) and Cintas Corporation (CTAS).

Advisors' Opinion:- [By Ben Levisohn]
We continue to argue Sanofi offers near term momentum. This is based on scope for pipeline expectations to rise (today news on Dengue vaccine and recent PCSK9 data should help), coupled with an attractive valuation and earnings upside risk going into Q3. Sanofi trades at a>10%PE discount tothe sector yet offers comparable growth (5YR EPS CAGR 10%). That said, we retain our Neutral rating as we havehigher conviction on theLTfundamentals elsewhere in the sector, andremain concerned about the sustainability of growth for the diabetes franchise (>30% of profits) post 2017. Preferred Pharma plays include AstraZeneca (AZN), Bayer, Novo Nordisk (NVO) and UCB. Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMY)and Pfizer (PFE) are our preferred US plays.
- [By Maxx Chatsko]
The company will now compete more readily with industry leaders Novozymes from Novo Nordisk (NYSE: NVO ) and Genencor from DuPont (NYSE: DD ) . However, the biggest effects could be felt at Codexis (NASDAQ: CDXS ) , which has also licensed the cutting-edge host organism from Dyadic. Will BASF's push into industrial enzymes, specifically using the C1 platform, vindicate Codexis or shove it out of the way?

Following FDA approval of its abbreviated new drug application, or ANDA,Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (NYSE: RDY ) announced today that it launched its lamotrigine extended-release tablets, the generic version of GlaxoSmithKline's Lamictal.
- [By Dan Carroll]
The company's generic drug segment should also help push emerging market sales. Abbott markets generic pharmaceuticals outside the U.S. only, and while the division isn't growth-oriented -- sales actually fell around 2% for the quarter -- it provides an entry for the company to push into lucrative new markets such as India, where generics make up the large majority of the country's retail market. The company will face tougher competition in this industry, however: Firms such as India-based Dr. Reddy's (NYSE: RDY ) have also pushed hard into emerging markets lately, and Dr. Reddy's in particular should benefit from its being headquartered in one of the industry's top locales.
- [By Benjamin Shepherd] We’re now into day 15 of the US government shutdown, as House Republicans stubbornly try to defund Obamacare. No matter what sort of deal is eventually struck, health care costs aren’t likely to come down any time soon. And that’s good news for generic drug makers.
Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories (NYSE: RDY) is one of the biggest players in generic drugs, offering more than 200 off-brand medications in the areas of cardiovascular disease, pain management and oncology, among others. In fact, this India-based company has become one of the largest makers of generics in the world, helping to drive more than 20 percent annual compounded earnings growth at the company over the past decade.
